What You Need To Know About The Dot CO Domain
Gradually, we saw an influx of these dot co domains flooding in, and with the support of many of the big guns in the industry such as Ed Dale, Kenny Goodman, and Guru Bob, many people saw this as a very big opportunity to jump on board with, however, the bottom line is that this is just another domain TLD, just like the dot info and the dot ME. What makes this domain worthwhile to a potential buyer? Lets go over a few key points.
You Can Register Your Domain
When I say this, I mean that there are only 300,000 domains or so registered as of the time that I am writing this article, which means that if you have a domain that you want, chances are it is going to be free. From a keyword perspective, this is fantastic news, as we all know, Google loves to base relevancy on the keywords that are placed within a domain.
Lets not forget that with the dot com and the other big two domain TLD's, it is next to impossible to find a good domain that is keyword rich, which means that you would more than likely have to buy that domain in the domain marketplace, which as we all know can sometimes be quite pricey.
The Dot CO Is Highly Brand Able
Just like the.LY and the.ME, this is a very highly brand able domain. With a little creativity, you can easily end up with a very catchy domain, which as we all know, domain names that roll off the tongue quite easily often end up being in high demand. With emphasis on the dot CO being on companies, this is the perfect domain to use for setting up your own business.
The Dot CO Is Global
Google made the announcement recently that they are making the new TLD a global extension. As this domain was previously the local TLD for Columbia, this is great news, as owners of these domains can now receive equal treatment across the globe. This was what I see as being the biggest turning point with this domain and its potential since its inception, and understandably, sales have exploded since this was made public knowledge.
So, I will compete this by saying that there are many domain TLD's that are available at the moment. My personal favorite is the traditional dot com, however, with it being such a difficult task to get your hands on a good dot com, the dot CO is proving to be a great alternative based on its brand ability, its availability, and of course, the fact that it is now a global domain. It is certainly a TLD that we are going to hear more about in the future, that may very well become the new global domain.
